SBIR Road Tour

The SBA SBIR Road Tour is coming to Colorado for the first time this year, and is stopping in Boulder.

The SBIR Road Tour is a national outreach to provide technology funding opportunity through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.  Together these programs represent $2.5 billion in early-stage funding.
This is an exciting opportunity for attendees to gain an in-depth understanding of agency technology funding priorities, listen in on engaging panel sessions, meet one-on-one with program managers from 25 federal agencies and connect with local assistance; e.g.,  DHS, DOE, NASA,NIH, NOAA, USDA, USPTO and more.

Small Business Resource & Lenders Fair

Did you miss the March Resource Expo?  No worries, Arapahoe Libraries is host to the Aurora-South Metro SBDC’s Small Business Resource & Lenders Fair on Saturday, May 4th, 10AM – 12PM, at Smoky Hill Library in Centennial.

There is a wealth of business resources at your fingertips.  Learn about many nonprofit government and lending resources at the upcoming at this FREE event to learn about helpful local government and funding resources available to start or expand your business.  This is a  ‘kick off’ to National #SmallBusinessWeek.

Join other entrepreneurs and visit over a dozen business resource partners who will each give a short introduction to their services. There will be speakers from the SBA Colorado District Office, and several other state and local agencies. Nonprofit lenders will be on hand to discuss their funding programs with attendees. Marcia McGilley, Executive Director of the Aurora-South Metro SBDC, will emcee the event, and there will be a brief presentation about Arapahoe Libraries’ business resources and from a local small business owner who has received benefit from these same resources. The fair is a free event; just let us know you’re coming.

Last Chance to Sign Up for LEADING EDGE

The Aurora-South Metro SBDC is offering the LEADING EDGE Strategic Planning Series to help entrepreneurs write a business plan.  This premier business planning program begins April 5th and will be held every other Friday from 9AM to 4PM, April through May, at the Englewood Civic Center.  It is a hands-on program that includes guest speakers, a business planning book and five hours one-on-one consulting.  The SBDC is offering a reduced rate of just $295.  Interested entrepreneurs may register here.
 
This program will help the entrepreneur take a close look at feasibility, understand the value of knowing who the business customers really are, complete a competitive analysis, draft realistic financial projections and help complete the business plan.
