Sheri Tingey, Owner, Alpaca Raft
Alpacka Raft started in the fall of 2000 as a collaboration between Sheri Tingey, the design genius behind all of the products, and her son Thor, who had just completed a 600-mile packrafting traverse of Alaska’s Brooks Range and had some ideas for how to make a better performing packraft. Her journey to starting her business began when they received a second Ritt Kellog Fund grant and spent 39 days traversing 600-miles of the Brooks Range, where they found that the packrafts they used were wholly inadequate. Inspired by her trip, Sheri created her first boat that took the packraft world by storm. However, her success didn’t come without its challenges and hurtles, where you will leave this talk feeling inspired on how Sheri overcame these obstacles and built for the future. NEW at Havana BID

Welcome Chance Horiuchi!

The Havana Business Improvement District (BID) Board has hired Chance Horiuchi for the executive director in-training position.  Chance will be training under current Havana BID Executive Director, Gayle Jetchick, for a full year to learn the ropes before taking over as ED in April of 2019.  Gayle can then semi-retire and drop back to part-time or help with specific projects only.

For the past six years, Chance worked as the Director of Business Development at the Aurora Chamber.  She is well connected in the Aurora community and has the business knowledge and energy to continue and expand the Havana BID’s programs.  Her first day on the job is April 2, 2018.
