Welcome Chance Horiuchi!

The Havana Business Improvement District (BID) Board has hired Chance Horiuchi for the executive director in-training position.  Chance will be training under current Havana BID Executive Director, Gayle Jetchick, for a full year to learn the ropes before taking over as ED in April of 2019.  Gayle can then semi-retire and drop back to part-time or help with specific projects only.

For the past six years, Chance worked as the Director of Business Development at the Aurora Chamber.  She is well connected in the Aurora community and has the business knowledge and energy to continue and expand the Havana BID's programs.  Her first day on the job is April 2, 2018.

Recap: Small Business Resource and Lenders Fair

Friday, June 02, 2017
Twelve small business resource providers and micro-lenders were on hand May 20th to give information and answer questions at the recent fair that was held to culminate the Aurora-South Metro SBDC's LEADING EDGE(TM) Strategic Planning Series.  Becky Takeda-Tinker, Ph.D., of CSU Global Campus introduced Congressman Mike Coffman, who addressed the crowd at the Aurora Central Library. Pictured at right with the Congressman is Josh Vigil, Deputy Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration Colorado District, and Eric Phillips, SBA's Economic Development Specialist.

Executive Director Marcia McGilley, as emcee of the event, thanked the 12 business resource partners and micro-lenders.  "We appreciate the time community members took on a Saturday to share expertise with our clients and citizens. Special thanks to the team from the Congressman's office for hosting this event."  A few photos of the event are below.
