The U.S. Small Business Administrator, Linda McMahon, visited Stanley Marketplace in Aurora and spent time with a number of SBDC clients yesterday.    She began with a tour of the facility by the developer, Mark Shaker, owner of Flightline Ventures and co-owner of the Stanley Beer Hall.  She visited clients’ sites, held a business roundtable and gave media interviews. “We were honored to have the Administrator visit the City of Aurora and our SBDC clients located at Stanley Marketplace.

SBDC clients involved in the Administrator’s visit included:
Mark Shaker, developer of Stanley Marketplace – gave tour of Stanley
Annette Scratch to Table (restaurant) | Caroline Glover, Chef and Owner
Trunk Nouveau (gift boutique selling goods from local Colorado artists) | Stephanie Shearer, Owner
The Hangar at Stanley (event space) | Mark Shaker and Tim White, owners
Maria Empanada (restaurant) | Lorena Cantarovici, owner and 2017 SBA Colorado Small Business Person of the Year
Stanley Beer Hall (restaurant and bar) | Mark Shaker (on tour) and Tim White, owners

“Having a member of the cabinet, such as Administrator McMahon, was an honor for the City of Aurora and the Aurora-South Metro SBDC.  We appreciate her interest in small businesses in our area and their concerns in operating a small business,” said Marcia McGilley, executive director of the Aurora-South Metro SBDC.

A note about Stanley Marketplace:

Stanley Marketplace is a community of 50+ independently owned local Colorado businesses at 2501 Dallas Street in Aurora.  The original business, Stanley Aviation, sat by the site of  Denver airport's main runway. The doors of Stanley's event center, The Hangar at Stanley, open onto what used to be a smaller runway just for Bob Stanley and Stanley test planes.  Flightline Ventures developed the unused aviation building into what is an outstanding place to eat, drink, shop, exercise, play, work and more.  It all began with a couple of neighbors who wanted to open a small beer hall.  Their idea grew into something much larger for the community--under one fantastic roof.  As stated in the Stanifesto, "We're here for good."
